Matt Thrasher
Matt Thrasher brings a wealth of forestry knowledge, field experience, and a deep-rooted
passion for the outdoors to every client interaction. With an associate degree in Forestry
Technology from Northeast Mississippi Community College and over a decade of hands-on
experience in land and timber management, Matt is dedicated to helping buyers and sellers
realize the full potential of their land investments.
Matt's career began guiding elk hunts in the rugged terrain of Colorado, where he developed a
strong appreciation for the land’s unique attributes. He later served as a field operations
forester with Growing Assets Forestry Consulting Group in Tuscumbia, Alabama, where he
specialized in timberland investments, timber sales, and forest management for private
landowners. His career expanded into real estate with Natural Resources Group, focusing on
timberland procurement and investment sales.
Since 2019, Matt has worked as a timber buyer for Independent Stave Company,
concentrating on white oak procurement for bourbon barrel production—further sharpening his
eye for valuable timber tracts. Now a licensed real estate agent in Mississippi, Alabama, and
Tennessee with Mossy Oak Properties, Matt specializes in helping clients buy and sell land
that meets their unique needs, whether it's recreational property, timber investment, or
agricultural acreage.
An avid outdoorsman, Matt believes that every piece of land tells its own story. He brings that
perspective to each client relationship, helping others see the potential in every tract—no
matter the size. When he’s not out walking properties, you can find him spending time
outdoors or on the baseball field with his son, Cullen.
Originally from Ohio, Matt has called Northeast Mississippi home since childhood and currently
resides in Iuka, MS. He is proud to serve the land and people of this region with the expertise,
integrity, and enthusiasm they deserve.
